About me
I was born in India, and my family immigrated to the U.S. when I was seven years old. I grew up in the greater Chicago area, completed my medical training in the Midwest, and moved to Seattle in 2001. My husband and I were married in Chicago. We have three children, two girls and a boy. I always knew I wanted to be a doctor. The workings of the human body fascinated me from a young age and I remain inspired and awed by the intricate interactions necessary for our bodies to work. I am also humbled by the breakdown of the same systems due to acute and chronic stressors. Finding ways to resolve, reverse, or stabilize these medical conditions is the challenge and reward in medicine. I am currently working with the Research Institute as the clinical lead on a hepatitis C project.
About my practice
I enjoy partnering with patients to improve their health. Trust is the key to making the doctor/patient relationship successful. Other components are open communication, mutual understanding of realistic goals, and agreement on the steps required to achieve the best health for the patient. I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente because it is an integrated group practice that seamlessly provides complete care, including primary care, specialty, labs, imaging, and pharmacy. Having all of these components in one system provides better continuity, communication, and quality.
How I thrive
I enjoy hiking, running, playing tennis, gardening, and spending time with my family. We love learning about environmental stewardship and are looking at ways to incorporate these concepts into our daily lives. We also have an interest in contributing to our local and global community through volunteering, fostering awareness, and raising funds.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
