About me
I was born in Saigon, Vietnam, but grew up in the Seattle area. My wonderful wife and I are expecting a new member of our family in the fall. I attended the University of Washington and studied bioengineering. During college, my love for technology and its ability to improve lives led me to pursue medicine. I completed medical training in St. Louis and at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. When I started medical school, I wanted to design new medical technology. But after caring for patients in a student-run clinic, I decided family medicine was the better fit for me. I worked with patients who were struggling to put food on the table and feel safe in their homes. These experiences had a deep impact on me. I wanted to care for the entire person, their family, and their community. I chose to practice at Kaiser Permanente because of their focus on primary and preventive care. I'm grateful to be part of an organization that's improving lives by providing high-quality, low-cost care.
About my practice
My areas of expertise include refugee and immigrant health, mental health, addiction medicine, sports medicine, and functional medicine. I want to understand what motivates my patients and what holds them back. My goal is to work as a team with my patients to help them live their best lives. I strive to bring my medical experience, the most current research, and procedural skills to the table to help my patients achieve better health. Helping people reach their health goals is incredibly rewarding.
How I thrive
I love to cook and eat. My wife and I love traveling and eating the local foods of each region. We enjoy trying to cook the different foods we've sampled. My family and friends bring me great joy and inspiration. They make me want to leave the world a better place than we found it.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
