About me
I grew up in Shiraz, Iran, south of my birthplace, Tehran. It was my home until I moved to the U.S. in 2007. After living in Houston, my husband and I moved to Springfield, Illinois, where I attended internal medicine residency program at Southern Illinois University. After 3 years, we moved to Cincinnati, where I had my training in heart failure/transplant, and cardiology at the University of Cincinnati. We have a 12-year-old son, Nika, who has been very patient throughout this process with us. I chose to join Kaiser Permanente because the model of care makes sense to me as a physician. It not only encourages the clinicians, but also provides them with the necessary resources to focus on patient care. The integrated model allows easy and timely access to different specialties and diagnostic tests. At the end of the day, everyone works as a team to provide the best possible care for our patients.
About my practice
My special interests are cardiac imaging and heart failure. I treat my patients with the same compassion and integrity as I would for my own family. I believe in patient education, individualized care, and personalized medicine. Communication between the provider and the patient is key, as is respecting different beliefs. I believe in educating my patients and their families on their disease or health maintenance and involving them in shared decision-making. This helps to create strong, trusting relationships which can help improve health outcomes. It's extremely rewarding to be able to help my patients and their families, and to be there for them when they need it most.
How I thrive
I enjoy every moment I spend with the loves of my life, whether it's watching a movie together, reading a book to my son, or baking with my husband. I also stay motivated by volunteering at a free clinic that serves uninsured and underinsured individuals.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
