About me
I was born overseas in Oman during my parents service in the Peace Corps. I grew up on the West Coast, went to college in Los Angeles, medical school in Oregon, and residency here in Seattle. My husband, Kirk, and I have been married for 13 years. We moved to Olympia in 2008 to raise our family, two awesome kids and one super sweet dog.
About my practice
After four years in medical school, I knew I wanted to pursue a residency in family medicine. The continuity of care, incredible variety of the daily work, and chance to support families and individuals through growth and change is a privilege. I believe this is one of the best places in the world to practice medicine - excellent support staff, smart and capable colleagues, and great specialists who are accessible and responsive. My goal is to establish a long-term health care partnership with my patients and their families, and optimize their physical and mental health. I do my best to listen first and then create an individual plan of care. I work with a range of patients, infants from ages three months and up, adolescents, women, LGBTQ, and geriatric. I also volunteer at our local free clinic, providing care for individuals in Thurston County who dont have medical insurance, and I recently joined the countys volunteer medical reserve corps.
How I thrive
I do my best to stay healthy by exercising regularly, spending time with my family and friends, learning new skills, keeping a balanced perspective, and making time for myself when possible. I enjoy traveling, reading fiction, doing photography, being outside, camping, and commuting to work on my snazzy electric bike. I also play coed recreational soccer here in Olympia and co-coach my daughters recreational soccer team.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
