About me
I was raised outside of Boston and received my education in the Northeast, from New Hampshire to Maryland. After completing my medical training in 2000, I moved to Seattle with my wife to start my career at this organization. My educational path and interests led me to clinical medicine, and I feel great personal satisfaction in knowing that I have dedicated my life to improving the lives of others. Working here has afforded me the opportunity to treat patients within an integrated medical system, and I am thankful to be able to practice patient-centered care.
About my practice
Throughout my career, I have shared in many patients personal decisions, including those made as they approach the end of their lives. When guiding a patient through a medical decision, I strive to understand what is important to them. Above all, I consider myself a partner. It is my primary responsibility to support each patients values and help them to develop the best plan to manage their health. My practice includes inpatient critical care as well as outpatient care related to general pulmonology and sleep medicine. Within pulmonology, I have a particular interest in COPD.
How I thrive
I spend most of my free time being a husband and a father. My daughters passion for equestrian show jumping has taken us up and down the coast, from British Columbia to Southern California. When not with her at a horse show or lessons, you may find me with our coonhound at Marymoor Park. I also love hiking with my wife, photography, cooking, and cheering for Boston sports teams. My inspiration and motivation comes from seeing the strength of others, especially my patients, as they work to improve their health, even when it is a struggle.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
