About me
My wife and I both grew up in Puyallup. We met in high school and now live in Tacoma with our son and 2 cats. I feel fortunate to have stayed local for medical school and residency; I attended the University of Washington School of Medicine and later completed my residency in pediatrics at Seattle Children's Hospital. I'm honored to serve the community I've spent my life in and hope to create a positive impact on the families that entrust me with their care. I was inspired to go into the medical field by my father, who served as a primary care physician for 40 years and built relationships with patients that spanned multiple generations.
About my practice
I take a personal approach to care, combining evidence-based medicine with each patient's family history, culture, and emotions. Through education and respectful, open conversation, I work collaboratively with patients and their families to make informed decisions about their health care. I have a deeply rooted belief that patients deserve to make their own health care decisions, and I strive to make them feel heard, understood and well informed as they make those choices. I serve children and adolescents from birth to age 21 and am particularly interested in well child care, diabetes care, adolescent wellness including sexual-reproductive health, mental health and LGBTQ care.
How I thrive
For my mental health, I love spending quality time with family and friends, photography, music and reading. For my physical health, I love spending time outdoors and cooking nutritious meals with my family. For the health of my community, I volunteer at local schools teaching children about health and science and also mentor future doctors.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
