About me
I was born and raised in Plymouth, Minnesota (a suburb of Minneapolis). Following the completion of my undergraduate degree at St. Olaf College, I moved to Kansas City for medical school. After achieving my medical degree and acquiring my master's in bioethics, I relocated to Tacoma, Washington, for residency and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. I now permanently reside with my fiancÈ in Tacoma, where we spend most of our time trying to keep up with our energetic dogs (vizsla and an Australian cattle dog mix). I sought medicine as a career because I love connecting with people, building long-term relationships, and helping others. I find working closely with my patients to help them achieve their health goals to be very fulfilling and one of the great joys of medicine. I chose to join Kaiser Permanente because of their patient-centered, team-based approach to care and exceptional resources available to me and my patients, all of which I experienced firsthand as a patient.
About my practice
I love the variety that family medicine has to offer and the diversity of patients. Every day, I get to meet people of all ages and backgrounds and help them with their medical needs. It is an incredibly fulfilling field of work. My areas of expertise include preventive medicine, long-term patient care, osteopathic manipulative treatment, and behavioral health. I strive to understand each patient as an individual and listen to their concerns with empathy. Working together, we can build a plan to achieve their personal health goals. It's a genuine privilege to be part of my patients' care.
How I thrive
I stay mentally and physically healthy by biking, exercising, playing with my dogs, and spending time with friends and my fiancÈ. I love the outdoors and trying new things. I'm working on my goal to travel all over the world with my partner. White water rafting, skiing, and rock climbing keep me motivated. I also coach and play baseball and softball.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
