About me

I was born and raised in the Midwest. I spent seven years living in Asia, working on perinatal health issues globally, and moved to Seattle in 2009 to work on perinatal health at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. I joined KP as a clinical nurse-midwife in 2016 and couldn't be happier about my choice. I live in West Seattle with my husband, two little kids, and two cats. When I'm not working, I love to do art projects with my daughter, dance with my son, garden, and play backgammon with my husband.

About my practice

I worked on the public health/research side of midwifery for many years, but as soon as I attended my first delivery, I realized I wanted to be a clinical midwife. It allows me to work with patients and their families during one of the most intimate and exciting times of their lives. Also, I love helping patients become more comfortable with speculum exams and routine screenings. I have published papers on my work related to midwifery in Burma, magnesium-sulfate for fetal neuroprotection, and preeclampsia. I am a former Fulbright Fellow (Japan) and Peace Corps volunteer (Bangladesh). Joining Kaiser Permanente has given me the opportunity to practice as a full-scope midwife and interact with an incredible team of providers spanning all aspects of healthcare. Beyond my clinical work, I am interested in refugee and immigrant populations, international health, and public health research. I love being able to care for patients across their reproductive life spans, and be there to meet their teeny tiny babies.

How I thrive

I enjoy quilting, volunteering with resettled refugee populations, gardening, and swimming - once I swam across the I-90 Bridge to Mercer Island, and back. My husband and I recently bought a house, and I've been l spending time outside, landscaping and gardening. I also draw a lot of inspiration and energy from my community.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.

Search Tips

  • Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
  • Check your spelling.
  • Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
  • Remove any location information from the search terms box.
  • Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
  • Try searching by specialty.
