About me
I grew up in the suburbs of New Jersey, moved to the West Coast for my undergraduate degree in 1976 and now live in Washington with my family. I graduated from The School of Social Work at the University of Washington in 1984. I have had many specialized courses in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia and 5 years ago completed foundational training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy at Behavioral Tech in Seattle. I am a passionate champion for my patients as they work hard to improve themselves. I have worked with Kaiser Permanente and Group Health since 1988 and strongly believe that our model of care is just as relevant and vital today as it was when it first emerged as an HMO. I hope KPW continues to work hard to bring our excellent services to our community and our model of integrated care to the rest of the country.
About my practice
Compassionate care is at the core of my beliefs and my practice. It takes courage and willingness for a patient to make their first appointment and to participate in therapy. I like to recognize the importance of that first step toward a healthier life during a patient's first appointment as well as look back on their progress over time. I see patients of all ages, although I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and patients with a history of trauma and medical conditions that affect mental health. I address the changes needed to reduce suffering and offer patients the tools and resources needed to improve meaning and their quality of life.
How I thrive
In many ways, my life is defined by the wonderful communities that I'm a part of, my family being at the center of my life. I'm an active member of the Jewish community, have a close group of longtime friends, and am proud to be a part of the medical community. In my free time, I work out every morning before work to manage my health, reduce stress, and maintain focus and to inspire my patients that they can do the same for themselves. I enjoy spending time outdoors skiing in the mountains, relaxing on the lesser-known beaches of the Oregon coast, and staying active with my labradoodle.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
