Where I practice
About me
I grew up in Western Washington, and moved to Eastern Washington after medical training. Most of my family is in this area, so I consider the entire Pacific Northwest my home. I often tell my patients that if I wasn't a family physician, I'd be a high school/college biology teacher. I have a passion for understanding how the human body works, and sharing that with others. Having survived a devastating illness that left me with some physical limitations, I've been able to provide additional insight and guidance for patients and family members facing long-term challenges after a major illness or injury.
About my practice
My goal is to keep the whole person in mind when addressing my patients. I want to understand their health care needs and concerns within the setting of their physical, personal, social, and spiritual lives. I am interested in pediatrics, sports injuries, diabetes, and women's care. With so much information at our fingertips in the internet age, I appreciate the opportunity to help my patients sort through what they have learned, and provide them with perspective and guidance as they make the best health-related decisions. Working in this organization has provided me the opportunity to practice full-spectrum family medicine. I can count on my coworkers to take great care of my patients when I'm not in a position to do so personally.
How I thrive
My wife and I chose to live in a somewhat rural location in order to pursue outdoor activities, primarily bicycling and riding horses. Our grandkids are a more recent addition to our recreational priorities. I enjoy playing guitar, live sound mixing, and country living. Music, spiritual life, and focusing on my family keep me grounded and healthy.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
