About me
I was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, and grew up in the Hilltop neighborhood. I spent 4 years in New Orleans, Louisiana, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University of Louisiana. I returned to Tacoma after graduation to attend the University of Washington, where I received training to become physician assistant. I'm happily married. My husband and I are expecting our first child in June 2019.
About my practice
I have wanted a career in medicine since high school. My interest in the medical profession stemmed from my love for science and passion to care for others. With a patient-centered approach to health care, Kaiser Permanente seemed like the best fit for me. The way that the organization incorporates physician assistants in practice improves access to patient care while also providing a supportive learning environment for new clinicians, like me. I enjoy lifelong learning and the ability to use that knowledge to make a difference in the lives of my patients. I take an individualized approach to care, recognizing that it varies from patient to patient. My goal is to meet each patient's needs to the best of my ability. I strive to build long-lasting relationships with my patients, which are built on trust and communication. My specific medical interests include woman's health, preventive health, diabetes management, dermatology, and underserved communities.
How I thrive
I enjoy outdoor activities, such as camping and hiking, as well as traveling. But I don't mind relaxing at home with a good book or binge-watching my favorite TV shows. Additionally, I like to surround myself with like-minded individuals that spread positivity. Spending time with family and close friends keeps me grounded. My career and service to the community give me purpose. Continued faith and constant prayer allow me to walk with purpose and ward off discouragement.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
