Where I practice
About me
I grew up on Mercer Island and received my undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and mathematics, with minors in music and international studies, from the University of Washington. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa and received the President's Medal, awarded to the top graduating senior. I completed my medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and was elected to the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. I then trained at the University of Southern California for 6 years, where I completed my internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery and a fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction. After 3 years practicing in Los Angeles, I am so excited to be joining Kaiser Permanente and returning home to the great Pacific Northwest.
About my practice
I am a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. I take great pride in spending the time connecting with patients and enjoy engaging in detailed discussions so we can make treatment decisions together. I believe in conservative treatment measures prior to surgery, but when nonoperative management fails I feel privileged to alleviate pain and improve mobility through surgery. I have a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and aim to perform each hip and knee replacement through the smallest necessary incision. I utilize the most advanced technologies, including robotics and navigation, to help patients recover as quickly as possible. I strive to treat each patient the way I would want my own loved ones to be treated.
How I thrive
I love spending time with my wife and our young daughter and dog, and all of my family and friends. I enjoy exploring Seattle's incredible food scene, working out, and going to concerts. I am active in Operation Walk, a medical mission that provides free joint replacements in third world countries and have operated on mission trips to Cuba and Guatemala.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
