Where I practice
About me
I grew up in Northern California. I enjoyed a wide range of subjects in school but science and medicine were always the most interesting to me. I met my wife in college and we went through medical school and residency training together in Boston before settling in Seattle. I was fascinated to discover that how anesthesia works is still something of a mystery, and I knew that I wanted to help make advances in this field.
About my practice
I am committed to patient safety and excellence in clinical care and service. I spent many years practicing in a top-notch academic institution where we trained physicians in anesthesiology and pain medicine. I am continually learning new things about how to best care for my patients - both in the operating room and in the pain management clinic. As a part of this integrated group practice, I have limitless opportunities to participate in great care and great patient-service initiatives. I enjoy the variety of my work and specialize in interventional pain medicine, cancer pain management, medical Informatics, and medical administration. I enjoy every contact with my patients and value their feedback on the experience.
How I thrive
As a kid I always wanted to learn to fly. After medical training, I was able to realize that goal. I fly frequently and embrace the challenges of the Pacific Northwest's weather and terrain. My wife and I enjoy the San Juan Islands and retreat to our getaway there on weekends. Staying active and trying new things keep me balanced. Travel is one of the best ways for me to accomplish both of those goals.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
Search Tips
- Can’t find your provider? Additional facilities can be found by searching under Locations.
- Check your spelling.
- Broaden your search by using fewer words or more general words.
- Remove any location information from the search terms box.
- Search by practitioner name (ex. ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘Steel City Chiropractic Group’).
- Try searching by specialty.
