Where I practice
About me
I grew up in Seattle and have always considered it home. I'm married with 2 kids and 2 cats. We try to do our part to take care of the planet by eating local foods, reducing waste, and traveling on foot and by bike. Though I was raised as a baby-loving, pro-choice feminist, my undergraduate degree is in the Growth and Structure of Cities, and I still love exploring the design and architecture of different regions. I was drawn to midwifery after caring for my mother throughout her illness and death. I recognized the inherent power of both death and birth to change families, and the importance of a compassionate, knowledgeable guide during these transitional processes. I was taught by the Group Health Bellevue midwife team, and I'm happy to join Kaiser Permanente after several years attending community-based births at homes throughout the Seattle area. I'm excited to be part of a collaborative group practice providing high-quality midwifery care in clinic and hospital settings.
About my practice
I'm passionate about empowering my patients to listen to their bodies and discover their own strengths. I strive to educate my patients and help guide informed decision-making throughout the lifetime of reproductive health events. I pride myself on listening, offering empathy, and making up-to-date recommendations based on science. I love being part of my patients' lives and witnessing the transformations that take place during pregnancy and birth. I also enjoy helping my patients find the right contraceptive for them and having the easiest pap smear possible, among other things. I'm truly honored to be trusted to provide care and guidance during these powerful and vulnerable moments.
How I thrive
I love being outdoors with my family and friends, whether in faraway destinations or my own backyard. We love walking, hiking, biking, and camping. I try to move my body every day and practice mindfulness to promote relaxation. Our family loves to read, and it's always fun to get new books from the library. Getting good sleep is also key.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
