About me
I am a Washington native, having grown up in Spokane before moving to Seattle for my undergraduate studies. I left to attend medical school at the University of Pittsburgh, but returning to the Northwest was always the plan. Growing up with a chemist father and physician mother, science is a way of life for me. I deeply enjoy how medicine allows me to apply scientific method and inquiry to changing people's lives on a daily basis.
About my practice
I believe in health care that prioritizes prevention over treatment and seeks to address the whole person. Having completed my medical residency at Group Health in Capitol Hill, I consider this organization my home, all of the things that meant so much to me when choosing a residency, including community, population health and evidence-based care, still matter to me now, which has motivated me to work at Kaiser Permanente. I have previously served on the King County Academy of Family Physicians board of directors, and I am certified as an American Academy of HIV Medicine Specialist. I embrace the broad scope of men's and women's health in Family Medicine, and I have personal interests in pediatrics, HIV medicine and LGBTQ care. I love the variety of people I work with and the challenge inherent to every day as a physician. While some issues may be medically similar, no two visits are ever the same.
How I thrive
I enjoy traveling abroad. The last few years have brought me to Japan, Ghana and Argentinian Patagonia. Like so many of my Northwest peers, I love being outdoors, exploring new places and experiencing new foods. Since staying active is crucial for both physical and mental health, running is part of my identity.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
