About me
I was born in Kansas City and raised in the suburbs. My mother is in remission from breast cancer after surgery, hormone treatment, and radiation. My father is actively undergoing treatment for kidney and bladder cancer. Thanks to early detection and prompt care, my parents are thriving in retirement. I am grateful for their health, and the insight their care experience provided, as a physician and a son. I attended the University of Notre Dame for science and anthropology. Subsequently, I returned to Kansas City to study medicine and to earn an MBA in Health Care Leadership. Aside from a semester in London, I've spent my entire life in the Midwest. Now, my wife, cat and dog proudly call the Puget Sound home for years to come.
About my practice
I am experienced in urologic open, laparoscopic, robotic and microsurgery, endourology, oncology, prosthetics, incontinence procedures, as well as genitourinary trauma and reconstruction. Aside from urology, I'm interested in health informatics, and workflow optimization. I see great potential to improve quality by leveraging technology and systems design to improve efficiency, efficacy and safety. The ability to have a positive impact on a person's outlook, outcome, and experience of life is a calling and privilege alike. I am grateful for my health and proudly serve as provider where I go as a patient. Kaiser Permanente is the largest integrated health care delivery system, enabling consistent and accessible high-quality care at the general population level. On an individual level, I believe, the doctor-patient relationship is a partnership built on trust and mutual respect. Our goals must align for me to help, and for you to thrive.
How I thrive
I am at peace in nature. With every sunset, I love the South Sound even more. I enjoy painting, photography, and tinkering. My approach to staying healthy includes regular sleep, meditation, self-reflection, exercise, stress management, and a high-fiber diet.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
