About me
I was born and raised in northwest Washington but have traveled throughout the country for educational opportunities for myself and my wife. My doctoral training was completed in Atlanta, Georgia for a directed specialty in pediatric neuropsychology. Once all the academic requirements were completed, we made every effort to return home to the northwest to be closer to our extended families. My wife and I met at our undergraduate college almost 30 years ago and we have two inquisitive and thoughtful children who make us laugh every day.
About my practice
While I was growing up, my family always noted my interactions with other people suspecting I would someday become a teacher. During college as I learned about the intersection between someone's behavior, decisions, and emotions, something sparked a passion for cognitive psychology, and later pediatric neuropsychology. I am interested and involved in several organizations involving hematology/oncology, and foster care. Working at Kaiser Permanente has given me the opportunity to practice clinical child psychology with a wealth of resources. The combination of an evidence-based approach with a patient-centered attitude continues to inspire my work. My primary philosophy of care is to actively listen and respond to clinical questions from patients and other providers from whom I receive referrals. Each encounter is specific and the needs of every child and family will vary. My interests are in hematology/oncology, seizure D/O, autism, concussions, school-related concerns, and behavioral disruption.
How I thrive
I enjoy hiking, photography, adult soccer, and cooking. I like to try new things all the time. My family and I also love to travel and sample the local cuisine. I try to stay as emotionally healthy as possible by staying connected and authentic to my family and friends.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
