About me
I was born in New Jersey and grew up in Florida. I spent over 9 years in Atlanta, where I went to college and medical school training. I moved to Seattle for family medicine residency training in 2008. I'm married and we have 2 sons. I've always enjoyed puzzles, and there's no better puzzle than the human mind and body, which is so complex and so rewarding to support. I enjoy caring for families, and I always appreciate the trust my patients give me in helping them navigate their health. I chose to join Kaiser Permanente because of its preventive, holistic, and supportive approach to patient care. I value having many different platforms to care for my patients, from office to video, phone, and secure messaging.
About my practice
I believe that prevention is key. Giving patients the power to know how their body should function, what healthy mental well-being looks like, and how to seek care when things are going wrong is more than just rewarding; it's one of the most important parts of health. When possible, diet, exercise, and self-care should be the treatment we all seek. When necessary, we can use appropriate medications and provide interventions with an evidence-based approach on an individual basis. I'm especially interested in women's health and adolescent care, but my practice is very versatile. I enjoy the variety of my practice, which allows me to go from one appointment where I discuss depression, to the next where I place a long-term birth control implant, to another where I talk about diabetes and hypertension. This allows me to keep growing my skills while caring for my patients.
How I thrive
I stay mentally and physically healthy by taking brisk long-distance walks on most days and getting out on the water whenever I can. I also love spending time with my friends and family and playing with my boys. Hiking, yoga, and stand-up paddle boarding also keep me motivated. I also enjoy a good jigsaw puzzle.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
