About me
Please note that even if my panel is closed, I am always happy to accept pediatric patients (newborns, children and adolescents). My father is a family doctor and I have always been drawn to the art and science of medicine. I moved to Seattle for my residency training after completing medical school in my native Pennsylvania, and I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. I prefer to get around by bicycle, and I support local businesses and farms. I enjoy the community where I live and am grateful for the chance to learn and grow every day.
About my practice
I love connecting with people, listening to my patients' concerns, and working together on the best steps for their improved health. I genuinely care about my patients and value the chance to be part of their lives. I enjoy working within the broad scope of primary care. I get to see patients with a variety of health conditions who come from many different backgrounds. I have particular interests in pediatrics (newborns through adolescents), sports medicine and nutrition. It is important to me that primary care is valued here and we are supported by an excellent team of specialists. I like constant learning, which helps me stay up-to-date on medical knowledge. On my days off, I regularly supervise physicians-in-training (residents). I also do clinical informatics work, which is the application of information technology to healthcare. I value patient-centered, well-coordinated care. I love caring for all my patients and their families throughout their lives.
How I thrive
I love spending time with my wife, our two children and our friends and extended family. I prioritize time with family, regular exercise, cooking meals, bird watching, and quiet time for reflection to allow for personal growth. I also enjoy gardening and caring for our backyard chickens, as well as discovering new music, travel destinations, and international cuisine.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
