About me
I grew up in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada where I attended grade school and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Victoria. Since 2007, I've enjoyed living in Olympia, Washington, where my wife and I are now raising our 2 wonderful boys. She is also a medical professional. We met during clinical rotations in California. We enjoy family activities, especially traveling and exploring new countries. We also enjoy cooking together and weekend escapes to visit extended family.
About my practice
Our family physician was instrumental in my decision to become a clinician. He accurately diagnosed an infection when I was 9 years old, something another clinician missed altogether. He simply asked the right questions and then ordered the appropriate tests and treatment. As my interests in the biological sciences and public relations grew, I realized that medicine nicely combined the two. I am excited to join Kaiser Permanente, with its patient-centered approach to care and access to an extensive network of specialists. Visiting a clinic should provide patients with opportunities to be open and honest about their concerns. I am here to listen and to help ease those concerns. I am especially interested in the medical specialties of chronic disease management, pediatrics, geriatrics, and procedural medicine (skin biopsies, joint injections, trigger point injections, circumcisions, and cyst and lipoma removal).
How I thrive
I love to travel with my family. Tropical destinations are my favorite places to visit. Cooking and baking help relieve stress, and I love it when my kids get involved.

How we choose our network providers and hospitals
Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business, and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered, or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
