Act for a family member

If you have your own kp.org member account, you may be able to help certain family members with their health care by making appointments, looking over most of their test results, emailing their doctor, and more. To learn more, go to Act for a Family Member.

If you are not a Kaiser Permanente member and would like to act on behalf of someone who is a Kaiser Permanente member, you can set up a non-member caregiver account.

Medi-Cal Provider Directories

Kaiser Permanente Medi-Cal Provider Directories list providers in our Medi-Cal provider network. The Northern California Region and Southern California Region each have six Medi-Cal Provider Directories. You may see a Kaiser Permanente provider anywhere in your California region. These directories will help you find a provider near where you live.

You can refer to your Provider Directory to find a Primary Care Physician (PCP) in our network. Your PCP is the licensed provider you go to for most of your health care. Your PCP also helps you get other types of care you may need.

For a print copy or alternative format of a Provider Directory, please call Member Services at 1-855-839-7613 (TTY 711), 24 hours a day, 7 days per week (closed major holidays). You can also go to kp.org/finddoctors to search our online Provider Directory. Be sure to choose Medi-Cal Managed Care in the Health plans accepted section. This will show you the list of Medi-Cal providers.

Medi-Cal for Kids & Teens

Medi-Cal for Kids & Teens provides free services to keep you or your child healthy from birth to age 21. These services include check-ups, shots, health screenings, and treatments for health problems.

These brochures provide an overview of covered services and how to access them. They also stress the importance of preventive care. Your Medi-Cal Rights Guide explains what to do if your child's care is denied, delayed, reduced, or stopped.

Quality Improvement and Health Equity Committee (QIHEC) Quarterly Report

The Quality Improvement and Health Equity Committee (QIHEC) is a group of people from Kaiser Permanente and the community. They work together to make sure everyone with Medi-Cal insurance gets the right healthcare, no matter their race, ethnicity, gender, or who they love. They focus on keeping people healthy, preventing diseases, and making sure everyone gets the care they need. Our community members help Kaiser Permanente make healthcare better for Medi-Cal members.

Here's a summary of what was talked about, decided, and done in recent meetings.

Medi-Cal Delegation Statement

Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) delegates some functions and/or services to Subcontractors. These Subcontractors are Partially Delegated Subcontractors, as they assume some, but not all, of KP’s duties and obligations of the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Medi-Cal contract. KFHP conducts Delegation Assessments to ensure a high-quality care experience for our members and to improve their access to care for delegated services. The Delegation Assessment evaluates Subcontracting arrangements, with a focus on enhancing the member experience by examining the Subcontractor’s quality of care, provider network, and/or ability to accommodate member preferences such as type of provider and preferred language. The process includes review of monitored metrics and detailed reports to address member experience and the quality of/access to care. KFHP uses the Delegation Assessments to ensure delegated Subcontractors comply with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations, contract requirements and other DHCS guidance, including All Plan Letters and Policy Letters.
