Community events

Kaiser Permanente provides sponsorship funding for community events and activities supporting our mission and consistent with our current community health priorities. We are proud to sponsor several fitness events throughout Washington, as well as numerous nonprofit organizations providing critical services in the communities we serve. The list below is not a complete list of all events and organizations sponsored by Kaiser Permanente but rather the events where our members may participate or be interested.

Description: Now in its 20th year, this event celebrates the fight to end the stigma of mental illness by bringing mental health advocates in Washington together to walk for mental health awareness.

Description: The EWU Spirit of the Eagle Powwow celebrates the beauty and traditions of regional and beyond tribes with dance, music and food from local tribal communities. The annual powwow is put on by the Native American Student Coalition and the American Indian Studies program.

Location: Renton
Description: Each Tuesday, Renton Farmers Market features over 50 unique vendors each week who sell Washington-grown produce, flowers, baked goods and other foods, wine, beer, and crafts. More than a farmers’ market, RFM serves as a community gathering place with live entertainment and a “Kids Patch” with fun, educational activities for kids and their families.

Description: The Skyway Juneteenth Celebration Event is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 3:00PM-7:00PM. As a free Cultural Public Gathering this event's goal is to educate its attendees regarding the importance of Juneteenth to our American History, empower attendees to build their personal capacity while inspiring them to connect more deeply to their community to exact change.

Description: The Everett Station District Alliance is a fun time for families and community members to engage with the neighborhood and to learn more about what organizations are doing to make the district a better place.

Location: Tacoma
Description: WayOut Kids has partnered with Parks Tacoma (formerly Metro Parks Tacoma), the City of Tacoma, Pierce Transit, and other local community organizations to bring our event, Juneteenth: A Road to Economic Freedom, to the public. Our goal is to create an opportunity for economic growth and set a path for financial stability within the BIPOC community. We also want to celebrate the victories that are so integral to BIPOC history and our bright future. As the largest Juneteenth celebration in Washington State, our event draws people from all over the state to commemorate this important day.

Additional details: Kaiser Permanente medical staff will be providing the free sports physicals (PDF), with no appointment necessary. Any middle or high school student who is participating in sports is eligible.

Description: Join us as we march from The Capitol Building Steps through Downtown Olympia in a bold and colorful display of love, advocacy, and visibility.

Description: For over 30 years, Walk for Rice has united the community to raise funds for the ACRS Food Bank and nutrition programs while increasing awareness of food insecurity in Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (A&NH/PI) communities. The campaign kicks off in the spring and culminates in June with a multicultural celebration at Seward Park, featuring cultural performances, community speakers, and a three-mile walk led by fundraising teams.

Description: The Seattle Pride Parade is community-led, deeply rooted in activism, and unapologetically focused on LGBTQIA2S+ visibility. Every year, 300,000+ people gather in the streets, marching for joy, justice, and belonging.

The Kaiser Permanente Seafair Torchlight 5K Run returns in 2025 on July 26th along the new Seattle waterfront. The run is expected to draw 3,000 participants and serves as the prelude to the Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade. Kaiser Permanente also will provide a first aid tent and medical support for race participants, staffed by Kaiser Permanente providers. Visit the event website for more information and to register.
