About Me

I am Dr. Nagib Mikhael. I’m a board-certified psychiatrist who, for over 25 years, has specialized in consultation and liaison. That means doing psychiatric consultations for members at our medical center. I also do some part-time outpatient work at our Fontana and Ontario offices.

Biography

I was born and raised in Egypt, where I earned my medical degree before coming to the United States in 1981. I completed my residency training at Delaware State Hospital and Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia. I’ve been married for over 35 years to my beautiful wife, and we have 2 wonderful sons. One son is now a pediatrician! My passion is traveling. I also serve as a board member at our church.

About my practice

I’ve been taking care of our consultation and liaison service since I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1992, and I can proudly say I am the first psychiatrist to do that job full-time—I really enjoy working as a team with the other disciplines and departments.

How I thrive

I try to stay healthy and centered by keeping myself and family together, and traveling as much as I can. I love snorkeling and hoping one day to have the courage to go diving, too. The best time in my life is when I feel that I did something helpful for my members and they show their appreciations. That really keeps me going.
