About Me
I was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania. After graduating from Carol Davila Medical School in Bucharest, I practiced general medicine for a few years and became interested in psychiatry. I trained in general psychiatry and specialized in child psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Since going into clinical practice in 2000, it has been a privilege to share my patients’ happiest moments and help them through their darkest days. I love psychiatry because this is where we see the real interface between the psychosocial and the physical. There are lots of things in medicine that are tremendously exciting but I cannot conceive of doing anything else. I really love my job! I was honored to be recognized as a 5280 Magazine Top Doctor in 2019.
About my practice
I see children and adults who suffer from a variety of mental illnesses, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, psychosis, autism and other developmental disabilities. My practice is based on respect and giving my patients and their families enough information to participate in their own medical care. I also value patience and humor.
How I thrive
When not at work, I love traveling, hiking, skiing, taking pictures, cooking and reading science fiction.
