About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I am an internal medicine physician and have been working at Kaiser Permanente’s Gardena Medical Offices since 2006, and I look forward to helping you care for your health.

Biography

I was born in South Korea and moved to Southern California with my family when I was in high school. My mother always wanted me to be a doctor, but she passed away while I was still in school. I wanted to see her dream come true, so I attended medical school in Korea and served my internal medicine residency in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I then practiced medicine in Wichita, Kansas, for 15 years before returning to California to be closer to my family and, also, to serve the large Korean community here. I speak English and Korean fluently.

About my practice

I believe that the most important aspect of being a good doctor is to develop a strong relationship with my patients. I emphasize preventive care and a healthy lifestyle as the keys to maintaining your well-being. But I am also here for you if you ever get sick. Due to my experiences in immigrating to America, as well as my years of practice in the States, I feel that I can relate well to people from various backgrounds, which ultimately helps me provide better care for you.

How I thrive

I firmly believe that the best way to stay well, physically and mentally, is to stay involved in a variety of activities. I am an avid Ping-Pong player and enjoy playing with my friends to stay in shape and to relieve stress. I am actively involved in my church, which helps me feel connected to a greater community. In my free time, I like to travel, read books, and watch movies.
