Kaiser Permanente provider
My gender: Female
Yes, my office is accepting new patients. May require referral.
I was born and raised in Wisconsin and moved to Colorado to attend college. I am married with two daughters and we also have a fun-loving Portuguese Water Dog. I attended the University of Colorado for my BS in Nursing, my MS in Nursing and finally for my doctorate of Nursing Practice degrees. Prior to my work at Kaiser Permanente, I worked in a level one trauma center in Denver for four years as a nurse on a step down acute care unit. I became board certified as a nurse practitioner in 2009. In 2012, I completed a Hospital Medicine Fellowship at the University of Colorado. I am interested in preventative care, weight management, chronic disease management, and women's health. I whole-heartedly believe in Kaiser Permanente's aim of fostering healthy living.
My philosophy in providing patient care is to establish a partnership with my patients with the end goal of formulating a plan to optimize health. It is a privilege and an honor to practice as a nurse practitioner and I enjoy working closely with patients and in establishing long lasting relationships. I enjoy taking care of all age groups and I have a special interest in weight management and in encouraging healthy eating and an active lifestyle. As a board-certified nurse practitioner, I strive to provide my patients with the highest level of expertise and care through patient education, partnering with the patient in the care plan, and in rooting the care plan in evidence-based research.
It is important to be an active listener and to incorporate the patient's concerns and wishes into the medical care plan. I care about people and I care about working with them to improve their health. I work as a team with our specialists, pharmacists and others to coordinate my patients' care. Electronic medical records help me to see the big picture of a patient's health, so I can make good use of our time together and answer my patient's questions.
I thrive by working in a profession that I love and in spending time with family and friends. When I am away from work, I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, and spending time outdoors.
