We know quitting tobacco can be difficult to do. That's why we offer a range of proven approaches to help you.

There are many methods available — we'll help you find the one that works best for you.

Talk with a health coach

If you're thinking about quitting tobacco use, a brief chat with a coach can help as you discuss your health goals, options for next steps, and tobacco cessation offerings.

Telephone counseling

Create a plan for quitting and get ongoing support with a tobacco cessation counselor. To register for phone counseling, call 503-286-6816 or 1-866-301-3866 (toll free) and select option 2.

Tobacco cessation classes

Develop a personal strategy for ending your dependence on tobacco products. In the 6-session class, you can explore the behavior changes that will help you overcome cravings, resist temptations, and better handle stress — without relying on tobacco. In the single-session class, you can learn about the process of change, motivational tools, and barriers that hold you back.

Pharmacy benefit

You may be eligible to receive tobacco cessation medications at your drug benefit copayment price with a prescription from your doctor. In some cases, you may need to participate in an approved tobacco cessation program.

Cultivating Health® Freedom from Tobacco Kit

This self-help kit can help you give up that old habit. Learn about the dependencies that keep you using, the triggers that tempt you, and the barriers that hold you back from making lasting changes. The materials in the kit help you design your own quitting plan while supporting your efforts to make lasting lifestyle changes.

You can get a kit through the Health Engagement and Wellness Services Department.
