Where I practice
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I try to have my practice evolve into long-term relationships and nothing better than for you to know what I am all about and why I should be the one to take care of your most precious possessions: your kids!
I was born in Cuba, so I am fully bilingual in Spanish (¡Sí, hablo español muy bien!) and English. I came to the U.S. when I was 13 and was fortunate to be given the opportunities to work hard and go to school. I wanted to be a Spanish teacher as I already spoke Spanish, but my first year in college I had the calling to help other people. I switched gears and went to medical school. I chose pediatrics and behavioral pediatrics because I like the resiliency of kids - and because when working with kids there is always the opportunity that, with their parents' help, I can help them achieve their full potential in life.
About my practice
In my office, I see children that are having problems in school due to attention deficits or learning disorders. I also see children of divorce that are having difficulties achieving their potential due to parental communication problems. I work with parents so that their children may fulfill their potential and become successful young adults. I also still enjoy working in the hospital and caring for sick children, so I'm in the hospital at least once a week.
How I thrive
I have been blessed with a beautiful, supportive family. I've been married over 35 years. My wife is an elementary school teacher. We have two sons who have graduated from college. My family energizes me. I like to play golf (I am not very good) and I like to read medical journals and fiction. But most of all, I like working with kids and their families.
