I’m glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It’s very important that you feel comfortable with your physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me. I have worked as a gastroenterologist at Kaiser Permanente for 20 years.
I am originally from Stockholm, Sweden, and finished medical school at the Karolinska Institute in 1986. I worked in the hospital as nurse for a few years before I decided to go to medical school. It was during those years that I realized how much I enjoyed the science of medicine and the satisfaction of caring for other people. I did my fellowship in gastroenterology at UC San Diego. Prior to that, I did my residency at the Mayo Clinic.
I love my job and Kaiser Permanente has been a great place for me to practice. I knew when I started medical school that I wanted to work in an environment where I could focus on practicing medicine
I try to stay active in my free time. Swimming and running have kept me in shape. I have recently discovered yoga and feel that my mind and body both get a good workout doing this.
