Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am a physician in the Neurosurgery Department at Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center. I'm happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself.
I was born in Providence, Rhode Island. My family moved to Southern California when I was six years old and I've lived here ever since. I grew up in Orange County, and from a young age I was interested in science. In addition, my parents taught me that medicine is a challenging and noble profession. When I was 15 years old, I did volunteer work in the emergency department of a local hospital, where I observed the numerous ways in which physicians provide care and comfort to those in need. These experiences led me to a pre-med major at UC San Diego, and then I attended the School of Medicine of USC. During medical school, I developed a special interest in the nervous system, which led me to choose neurosurgery as my specialty. During my residency training, I spent a year doing epilepsy research. At that time, my wife-to-be was an undergraduate student working in the same lab. We fell in love studying rat brains and have been inseparable ever since.
About my practice
I feel very fortunate to be part of the Kaiser Permanente team. In our Neurosurgery Department, I have colleagues that I truly like and respect, and we all work together to provide outstanding service to our patients. I especially enjoy developing a bond with my patients and their family members, earning their trust and giving them the care and comfort they need.
How I thrive
I thrive because of the love and support of my family. My wife is an attorney, but chose to put her career on hold to raise our two kids. We have a son and a daughter, and they keep us busy and thoroughly entertained! Photography has become a major hobby for me and my kids are my favorite subjects. Mountain biking is my other main hobby—this sport really helps me thrive. I enjoy the physical challenge of the uphill climb, the peace and tranquility of riding in the hills, and the excitement of the descent. I look forward to riding with my kids when they get older.
