Where I practice
Hello, and welcome to my Web page! My name is Thomas Lee. I've worked for Kaiser Permanente since July 1987, and though I've watched our Antelope Valley clinic grow and grow, it has retained its small town feeling. I graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1978, after undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I stayed in California after optometry school, marrying another Midwesterner from North Dakota.
I was born and raised in a small town in northwestern Wisconsin, Chippewa Falls. The area is green and beautiful, with many lakes and rivers and forests. As a child and a young man I was a member of the Boy Scouts and camped and fished. My family took many camping trips in the local area and we built a small cottage on a lake north of our home where we still spend time winter and summer.
About my practice
I practice general optometry, including contact lenses and low vision. I enjoy working with all ages from children to elderly. That's what makes it fun, grade schoolers to retired folks. Kaiser Permanente has all the latest instrumentation and technology. We have an excellent working relationship with our other Kaiser Permanente ophthalmologists, treating post cataract surgery and monitoring glaucoma patients.
How I thrive
To try and stay fit I mountain bike in the local area and walk our two dogs. I also enjoy gardening and using our swimming pool in the summer. Each May and June, I travel to National Parks in Utah and Colorado, visiting optometry school colleagues and make it back to Wisconsin for fishing and visiting the family cottage.
