Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my work as a physician and physician administrator at Kaiser Permanente. I am an obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn) physician and have practiced for more than 20 years at Fontana Medical Center. In 2005, I began my administrative role as the chief of Ob/Gyn. I'm fortunate to be able to work at Kaiser Permanente as a physician as well as an administrator. My goal is to make our organization a model of health care.
I grew up in Minnesota and moved to California in 1980, when I was accepted to medical school at UCLA. I realized then that beautiful, sunny California was the ideal place to live, raise a family, and develop my medical practice. I thoroughly enjoy the practice of medicine and surgery. I also love to travel. Sometimes I combine the two and attend medical and surgical conferences on my trips. I like to pursue the continued development of my medical and surgical skills, which I believe will ultimately advance the treatment options for my patients.
About my practice
Obstetrics/gynecology is a unique specialty. As an obstetrician, I have the ability to deliver babies, and the delivery is truly an event that a baby’s family always remembers. As a surgeon, I specialize in minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures as well as urogynecology. Minimally invasive surgery is an exciting area, especially with the advancement of technology and the ability to perform big procedures through tiny incisions. Even after more than 20 years, being an Ob/Gyn physician continues to be a wonderful experience.
How I thrive
I have thoroughly enjoyed my family and raising my two children. In addition, I enjoy being physically active by hiking, jogging, swimming, and walking with my friends. I firmly believe in the mind-body connection and the concept of total mental and physical health. I try to promote this through thoughtful, compassionate care of my patients.
