Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this opportunity to tell you about my work as a physician and surgeon. I am a general surgeon and have been working at the Los Angeles Medical Center for more than 10 years. I feel fortunate to be able to work at Kaiser Permanente because it encourages a comprehensive team approach of primary and specialist care for its members.
I grew up in Los Angeles in a largely Armenian community. My mother was a nurse and I was exposed to the field of health and medicine at an early age. Understanding the important contributions of health care workers as I was growing up influenced my decision to purse medicine. To that end, I attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, after which I completed my residency for general surgery at Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
My practice centers on caring for the surgical needs of the diverse population of Los Angeles. I have an office both at Los Angeles Medical Center and the Glendale Orange Street Medical Offices. I practice general surgery, including surgical treatment of common problems such as breast disease, gallbladder disease, anal disease, and hernias. I also have an interest in complex abdominal wall problems such as those that require reconstruction of the abdominal wall. I work with a team of surgeons-in-training and enjoy teaching them the foundations of good surgical care.
How I thrive
When I am not at the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am an advocate of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which includes healthy eating, regular exercise, and having fun.
