Welcome to my Web page and thank you for taking some time to learn more about my practice and myself. I’ve wanted to be a physician since childhood, and I’ve found it so satisfying and gratifying to be able to help people get well. I feel it’s a privilege to be trusted with such an important part of life—your health.
I graduated from medical school at the University of Western Ontario in Canada in 1985, and completed my family medicine residency there. I became board-certified in family medicine in 1998, and have maintained that certification. In the last 25 years, I’ve enjoyed many facets of medicine. I’ve worked both in and out of the hospital, in the Emergency Department, and the ICU. I’ve delivered about 1,000 babies, and was the director of a nursing home for five years. I’ve lived in California since 1995. I have two grown sons—one natural and one a foster son—and a stepdaughter, who is also grown. On top of that, I now have grandchildren, too!
I feel that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy, but I'm also here to help you when you’re sick. I want to be your partner in health, and it helps me better care for you when you’re actively involved in taking care of your health.
I try to eat a healthy diet and like to walk on the beach for exercise. I enjoy relaxing with a good book. My husband and I are also involved in our local church. He keeps life interesting, teaching me trap shooting, archery, and SCUBA diving.
