About me

Hello, my name is Dr. Park. Welcome to my Web page. As an urgent care physician, I address your immediate needs when you are ill or injured. While our time together will likely be brief and focused on the treatment of your ailment, thanks to the Kaiser Permanente electronic health record system, I can familiarize myself with your medical history even before we meet. That way I can focus our time together conducting your exam and listening to your concerns.

Biography

I was born in South Korea but immigrated to the United States when I was only three, so I consider myself a Californian. I was raised in the Bay Area and developed an interest in science and medicine early in life. With the encouragement of friends, I joined a medical explorer program where we had a chance to see firsthand the world of emergency medicine. I was enthralled by the intensity and life-changing results that took place within those walls, and set about gaining the knowledge and experience I needed to become an effective physician. I attended medical school at UC San Francisco, completed my internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and had my residency at the UCLA/VA Medical Center in West Los Angeles. I’ve worked with Kaiser Permanente since 1997 and find it to be a great organization. The overall patient-oriented approach and well-honed, well-organized system of comprehensive care makes my job much enjoyable.

About my practice

Back in medical school, I learned that one of the most important things I can do as a physician is to listen to my patients. So please let me know how you feel and what concerns you have. I will always do my best to explain your options, so together we can develop an effective treatment plan. I encourage all my patients to get regular exercise. It not only helps improve your cardiovascular system, but can relieve stress and improve digestion. While eating a healthy diet is clearly beneficial, I encourage patients to consume smaller portions rather than depriving themselves entirely of the foods they love.

How I thrive

I enjoy playing sports including basketball and a bit of golf. When time permits, I enjoy traveling and discovering new lands and cultures. I’ve visited both Hawaii and Costa Rica in the past and hope to add a few more places to my passport in the future. To help relieve stress and enjoy time with friends and family, I’ve also been known to turn on the video game console and vanquish all enemies in a wicked game of Call of Duty!
