Where I practice
Welcome. I am happy to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician and physician administrator at Kaiser Permanente.
I love Southern California and its extraordinary diversity. I believe that we are blessed to live in this wonderful environment with an amazing mix of cultures, technology, natural beauty, and endless possibilities. I have always seen my contribution as being that of practicing the kind of medicine that makes Kaiser Permanente special. In fact, many of my family members are also Kaiser Permanente physicians. They led me on this path in medicine. In addition to being a physician, I am a wife, mother, and committed member of my community. I strive to promote recovery and wellness in every aspect of my practice. As a member of the treatment team in my clinic, I try to give our patients the hope, tools, and treatments that bring healthy living and a rewarding life. I know that while my medical skills are critical, healing also comes through my relationships with my patients and successful teamwork. These same convictions guide my administrative activities as well.
About my practice
I am an addiction medicine physician and psychiatrist, and have practiced for over twenty years at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. In addition to caring for our members, I serve as the Chief of the Addiction Medicine Department and as Assistant Area Medical Director for Quality, Risk, Patient Safety, and Regulatory Services at Los Angeles Medical Center. I feel fortunate to be able to work at Kaiser Permanente. I am dedicated to doing my best to ensure that the care we provide meets the highest standards of excellence.
How I thrive
I believe that health and joy come from the pursuit of life properly balanced with equal parts of challenge, reflection, and love. I try to remember this in all of my activities. Guiding a child's discoveries, sharing a balanced meal and good conversation with family and friends, running on a beautiful morning, dipping into the cultural richness that surrounds me, being of service to others these are things that help me live well.
