Where I practice
Hello, and welcome to my Web page. My name is Shweta Ramsahai, and I specialize in infectious disease at the Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center.
I grew up in Trinidad and Tobago, a country in the Caribbean. I moved to Washington, D.C. to complete my undergraduate and medical training. My admiration for the ability of doctors to save lives, and intrigue by the constant advances in medicine drew me to the field of medicine at a young age. I spent a few years working in Peoria, Illinois before I moved to San Diego. The sunny weather and beaches have made San Diego my home for good.
About my practice
My practice involves the diagnosis and treatment of many infectious diseases, including multi-drug resistant bacterial infections, HIV/AIDS, and tropical diseases in the hospital and clinic settings. In our HIV clinic, we have a multi-disciplinary team approach to healthcare. A medical assistant, social worker, pharmacist, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, and physician work together to coordinate the care of our patients. I feel very honored to have the opportunity to care for my patients and strive diligently to have them reach their healthcare goals.
How I thrive
I try to incorporate Kaiser Permanente's philosophy health in mind, body, and spirit in my daily life. I go to the gym four to five times a week; I enjoy yoga, cycling, exercising on the elliptical machine, and boot camp classes. My husband and I enjoy travelling to visit friends and family, and taking weekend staycations to experience different parts of San Diego. I look forward to meeting you and participating in your medical care.
