Where I practice
Welcome to my web page. My name is Dr. Samuel Wayne Yu, and I am a musculoskeletal radiologist at Kaiser Permanente’s Downey Medical Center.
I was born in Chicago, and I spent my childhood growing up in the west suburbs of Chicago. When I was 9, my family moved to Hong Kong, where I attended international school before returning to Chicago for my undergraduate and medical school studies at Northwestern University. I chose to become a doctor and a radiologist because of the opportunity to help patients and physicians obtain the right medical diagnoses and manage them accordingly. In my spare time, I love playing sports (particularly basketball). My background in medicine and musculoskeletal radiology has come in handy countless times when someone gets injured while playing or has chronic conditions that they are dealing with.
About my practice
The radiology department at Kaiser Permanente’s Downey Medical Center has been a joy to work in. My fellow colleagues in radiology are some of the friendliest and helpful physicians I know, both toward me and to the members and other clinicians that we interact with. This collegial atmosphere builds the foundation for a great work environment and helps people live well.
How I thrive
I try to keep healthy by going on walks along the beach, swimming, and playing pickup basketball whenever I can. Keeping active is one of the best ways to maintain your health along with eating healthily and in moderation.
