About me

Welcome to my Web page. I've included details about myself and my practice to help you get to know me a little better before we meet in person. I look forward to working with you, and to helping you care for your health.

Biography

I was born in the Philippines, where my parents had emigrated from China. I came from a big family of nine children. Since I was about four years old, my father said he hoped I would become a doctor, and I became one—no regrets. I came to the United States in 1976, and had my residency training in the Midwest. I had further training in New York, where my husband and I started our family. We moved to Southern California in 1986. We have two adult children, and we enjoy traveling and photography. In my rare spare time, I like to do scrapbooking.

About my practice

Radiation oncology is a very special field that gives me the opportunity to connect and help people with devastating illnesses, such as cancer, in a meaningful way. I am able to utilize medical skills and knowledge, but to also listen and respond to what you need. Being a doctor allows me the opportunity to listen to what you need, whether it's a concern or a hope. It's a privilege to help you clarify what you might not understand, to facilitate getting you the appropriate evaluations, and to communicate with you and your family.

How I thrive

I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of health in mind, body, and spirit, and try to live it in my life every day. My husband and I try to walk for at least 45 minutes three to four times a week. When time permits, we occasionally do volunteer work in our church. I also make it a priority to set aside time to just relax or read a good novel. When the children come home, we enjoy quiet family time together.
