Where I practice
Hi, my name is Roopa. I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you to get to know me.
I have wanted to be a physician since the sixth grade; I was inspired by my family doctor when I had to do a school project on different professions. My parents immigrated to Canada with me when I was 3 years old, and as a 23-year-old I came to the United States. I realized the importance of helping those who did not understand the medical systems or could not speak English well enough to access care, and this inspired me to help bridge that gap by going into medicine. My interest in health care for immigrants also prompted an interest in infectious diseases and public health.
About my practice
I'm here to help you when you are sick, but I also want to help you prevent illness. I would like to work as a team to ensure total health. I believe in the preventive health model of health, which is a Kaiser Permanente philosophy.
How I thrive
My family life is a major priority. I enjoy family outings to movies and entertainment; we do everything together. I try to remain active with my temple. My husband, 2 sons, and daughter enjoy summer trips. Most recently we have been to some of the national parks. I also make it a priority to set aside time to just relax through gardening, cooking, meditation, or reading a good novel.
