Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician at Kaiser Permanente. I feel very fortunate to work in this organization. Kaiser Permanente provides me the resources and the freedom in medical decision-making I need to provide quality health care for our members.
I grew up in a small mountain community in Southern California, where I enjoyed many outdoor activities. My career has taken many turns. Initially pursuing an interest in sports medicine, I had the unique opportunity to work and travel with a professional sports team as an athletic trainer. This experience led me to an alternative form of health care. I earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1990. I subsequently gained valuable experience in the management of musculoskeletal disorders while working in a large sports rehabilitation center. With the desire to expand my scope of practice, I went on to medical school and received my medical degree in 1999. Before coming to Kaiser Permanente, I practiced rural medicine for an underserved community. My time with Kaiser Permanente has been wonderful. I can't imagine a better place to practice medicine.
I now work exclusively in an urgent care setting. This has been a significant change from my previous role as a personal physician. My multifaceted background in health care has given me an advantage in meeting the diversity of problems and challenges faced in acute care. The team of physicians, nurses and support staff here are dedicated to providing the highest level of care we can to our members.
I have always been very active in physical fitness and enjoy many outdoor activities. I have found great joy as a new father and try to balance my time between my wife and daughter, work and play.
