Hello, and welcome to my Web page!
I spent my early childhood on the East Coast. I grew up in Pittsburgh and Baltimore, where I remember fireflies and squirrels. My first-generation Taiwanese parents then moved our family west to Utah. It wasn't until my undergraduate education at the University of Chicago that I became interested in medicine by volunteering in an emergency department. Once I graduated, I went back to Salt Lake City to attend medical school. I shoveled a lot of snow from my car there. During my residency in pediatrics, I decided to do an allergy fellowship. I became very interested in asthma because many of my patients suffered from this condition.
I like to think of our department as allergy and asthma detectives, searching for clues that will help us form a plan against allergies. The nurses perform the tests that lead us to the most likely suspects. With this information, both nurses and doctors help to form an action plan to educate patients. We are also family-friendly here and welcome children, who can play with toys and watch films during their visit.
I like to read P.G. Wodehouse's stories about doctors and patients.
