Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I was born in the beautiful country of the Philippines where I grew up with my seven siblings. Since age 6, it has always been my dream to be a doctor to help alleviate people's ailments, especially women, and to make a difference in their lives.
I obtained my medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. In 1981 my family decided to move to the United States where I finished my residency training in ob/gyn at Kern Medical Center in Southern California. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and look forward to working with you to care for your health.
Medicine as a career is a very special opportunity to connect with and help people in a meaningful way, utilizing medical skills and knowledge, but also listening and responding to what members need. Being a doctor allows people to share with me their fears and hopes; it is a privilege to help members understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, facilitate getting them the appropriate evaluations, and communicate with them and their families. I feel very honored that members have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.
I try to practice what I preach to members on how to thrive and lead a healthy life. I exercise by walking or jogging at least three to four times a week, and include plenty of vegetables and fruits in my diet. Also, spiritually my religious upbringing helps me balance my life.
