Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page, and thank you for taking some time to learn about my practice.
I was born and raised in Bakersfield. After two years at Bakersfield College, I finished my undergraduate studies at UCLA. Since I'd finally mastered the Los Angeles freeway system, I decided to stay in sunny Southern California. I attended USC for medical school and my orthopedic surgery training. After 12 years in the BIG city, it was time to come back home to a more relaxed lifestyle. I spent more than 20 years in private practice before I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008.
About my practice
My specialty is orthopedic surgery. I'm committed to providing the same care to my members that I would want for my own family. I will always inform you about both your operative and non-operative treatment options. My primary focus is in sports medicine, fracture care, and adult joint replacements. I have a special interest in performing knee and shoulder arthroscopy (surgery using very small incisions) for the athlete and young at heart. I also offer hip and knee replacements as reconstructive surgery to relieve pain and increase function for the mature member.
How I thrive
I'm healthier when I'm involved with my family. Kaiser Permanente allows me to have an optimal balance between my work and my family life. I'm involved in the interests of my wife and four kids. Whether it's academics, sports, or a getaway vacation, I'm right there. My wife and I enjoy seeing our youngest daughter play Division 1 softball at college. In the off-season, there's finally some time for my wife and me. To stay fit, we like to go cycling and to the gym.
