Hello. I am a full-time employee in the Family Medicine Department, but also can often be found working in the Urgent Care Department or helping hospitalized patients. I have been a Kaiser Permanente physician since 2002.
I was born in Loma Linda and was raised in San Bernardino, where my family still resides. My mother is a retired nurse practitioner and my father is a commercial contractor. I am the middle of two brothers, my older brother is a head and neck surgeon at Loma Linda University Medical Center and my younger brother is currently in dental school at Loma Linda University. Many members of my family are medical professionals, which had a significant impact on my decision to become a doctor. I worked with my father after school and during summers and learned construction, which I still do on the side. I enjoy traveling and living life to the fullest to enjoy and make an impact on this world one day at a time.
I feel I have been very well trained to manage almost any problem my patients may bring to me, but will refer a patient to a specialist if necessary. I enjoy my patients and feel I communicate well with each one of them. I can take care of Spanish-speaking patients with a little help. I perform minor procedures and injections in my office, and can take care of urgent care and hospital-based problems as needed. I am passionate about my work and continue to advance my knowledge so I can better serve my patients.
I have always been very active in sports, such as soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, hiking, water skiing, snow skiing, fishing, and off-road racing, which is physically demanding at times and have kept me in shape. I love being outside in sunny Southern California to enjoy my recreational activities. I eat well, need to sleep a little more, but have so much fun seeing patients I can often be found late into the evening continuing patient visits. I am a Seventh Day Adventist and believe this enables me to understand members' religious and cultural beliefs. I feel that I am balanced physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
