Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page! My goal in creating this site is to convey pertinent and helpful information to my patients and also to shed some light on who I am not only as a physician but as a person. As a member of the distinguished pulmonary department of Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, Ca., I have had the privilege of serving members for the past 20 years and look forward to improving the quality of their lives for many years to come. I am board Certified in both internal medicine and pulmonary medicine.
I was born in the suburbs about 10 miles north of New York City where I also attended high school. I did my undergraduate work at Hofstra University in Long Island where I obtained my B.A. suma cum laude in biology with a minor in psychology. This is where I met and married my wonderful husband. I completed my medical school in Jalisco, Mexico where I graduated at the top of my class at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara. Living in Mexico for two of my four years was a rewarding experience allowing me to become fluent in Spanish. I did my last year at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine In New York City rotating through internal medicine, surgery and obstetrics and gynecology. I did my internal medicine residency at New Rochelle Hospital in New York. I completed my pulmonary fellowship at the State University of New York at Buffalo gaining experience at both the Veterans Hospital and the Erie County Medical Center. Following my dream, I came to Kaiser Permanente in Fontana.
About my practice
I am happy to say that I was lucky enough to choose a career that I not only love but look forward to doing everyday. It is a pleasure for me to connect with people on a personal level and empower them to improve the quality of their lives. Whether helping them to understand a health related concept or finding the answer to a longstanding problem they've had, the thank you and smile I receive from members overshadows any hardships that I have dealt with for that day. Being a physician, I have the privilege of gaining the trust of members, allowing them to share their concerns with me as well as their hopes and dreams. I strive to meticulously listen to members and adjust their medical care based on their needs and lifestyle.
How I thrive
During my down time I enjoy watching old movies, cooking, gardening and reading. Relaxing and spending time with my husband, two children and Bella (my golden retriever) revitalizes me so I am ready to be there for members when they need me most. I use my vacation to spend time with my extended family (mother, and two brothers and their families) on the picturesque outer banks of North Carolina where I catch up on family news. I am lucky to have it all: a career I love, a supportive spouse and two beautiful children! I am blessed!
