Where I practice
Welcome! After nearly 25 years, I’m still happy to be part of the Kaiser Permanente family. I enjoy both my professional and personal relationships with members, and I love having the freedom to care for members based upon sound science.
I practiced only three miles from where I grew up in Winnetka until 2010. Now I’m in Ventura and practice near the place my Dad worked when I was in high school! I still come across members who knew my parents or siblings, and I’ve even had old teachers and family friends as patients. I decided in 8th grade that I wanted to be a doctor, but only because Marcus Welby’s associate on TV was so cool. Despite this naive reason, I don't believe I could have found a profession that suits me more. Being with Kaiser Permanente affords me the time to pursue my other interests—traveling, photography, and pottery making—when I’m not too busy with my family and two dogs.
About my practice
While helping people get well and feel better is important, I find the personal interactions with members as individuals to be equally gratifying. Knowing about them as people aids me in helping them through whatever medical issues arise.
How I thrive
Part of staying well is finding balance in your life so it isn't all work. I try to practice this myself, even if I'm not always 100 percent successful. Having outside interests and close family and friends helps keep life in perspective. In the last two years, I've started to walk the walk and try to exercise three or four times per week.
