I have been a dermatologist for more than 20 years. I grew up in a small town in Illinois (population 650). I attended the University of Illinois for undergraduate school, medical school, and my dermatology residency. I’m the first physician in my family. I moved to Los Angeles from Chicago in 1989. Before I joined Kaiser Permanente, I worked for a few other medical groups. I am the first physician in my family. I moved to Los Angeles from Chicago in 1989. I worked for a few other medical groups before joining Kaiser Permanente. I have two young adult sons, both of whom are graduates of UC Berkeley. Go Bears! I love college sports, especially basketball.
My practice consists of medical dermatology, meaning skin rashes, acne, skin cancer, etc. I do not do cosmetic procedures. I love what I do and consider myself lucky to be a dermatologist. I enjoy working at Kaiser Permanente because care can be coordinated easily with other Kaiser Permanente departments and physicians. Although I am not a computer person, I feel that our commitment to electronic medical records has greatly improved patient care.
I do yoga or cardio several days a week and try to make healthy choices in my diet.
