About me

Hello. My name is Dr. Dodge. I would be honored to care for you and your family. It is very important to me to develop relationships with members in order to better serve them. I would like to share a little bit about myself so that you can get to know me.

Biography

I was born and raised in Ventura, California. From the time I was a little boy, I always wanted to be a family doctor like my father. I had an older brother who was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 6 years old. He was cured at age 10, rediagnosed at 18, cured at 21, and rediagnosed at age 22. He had a bone marrow transplant but unfortunately suffered from graft vs. host disease and died at age 24. Watching my older brother suffer instilled in me a passion to help others. I went to UC Santa Barbara for undergraduate school and studied anthropology. I then went to medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico. I did my family medicine residency in Williamsport, Pennsylvania (home of the little league world series), and then made it back to Ventura to practice at Kaiser Permanente: a dream come true. While I was in medical school I got married, and during residency we had our first child.

About my practice

I believe that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay well. My goal is to educate members and work with them to help them be the healthiest they can be. I strive to stay up to date in order to better care for members.

How I thrive

I enjoy spending time with my wife and son. I also enjoy triathlons, trail running/hiking, surfing, rock climbing, and skiing/snowboarding. Staying healthy allows me to better care for members.
