Welcome to my Web page! I am glad to introduce myself before we meet. I am a pediatric cardiologist who has been serving Orange County for the past 27 years. I feel honored to work with the wonderful group of pediatricians we have here.
I was born in a small town in India, where my father was a physician. I remember him sharing interesting cases with me even when I was in the elementary school. One of his cases, I remember clearly, was of a little boy who had a fishhook through his finger and my father had to remove it. This might have sowed the seed in my mind to become a physician in the future. I completed my education in Mumbai, India and had 3 years of postgraduate training in pediatrics before coming to the United States. I did my residency at Rutgers University in New Jersey, and I came to UCLA to do my fellowship in pediatric cardiology. Upon completion I joined the staff of Kaiser Permanente, and I have enjoyed every easy and busy day working here.
As a pediatric cardiologist I am glad that I can often relieve the anxiety in a parent's mind about the health of their child's heart. I try to reassure them that I am here to help and support always. I also teach them how they can keep their heart healthy by eating nutritious foods, engage in exercise, and avoid smoking, drugs, and alcohol.
I believe in a healthy body and healthy mind. I keep my body healthy by eating nutritious meals and exercising. I nurture my mind by reading, traveling, and cooking for my family and friends.
